How To Install Chrome OS By Yourself

Yesterday the new Google Chrome OS had it’s debut. I saw the presentation Google made and it was quite interesting (7 seconds booting). Well, the official slideshow has a lot of slides still this video explains very well what this OS is all about.

For what I’ve read you can install this “beta version” using VirtualBox, here is a link with information on how to install the Google Chrome OS.

1.- Download VirtualBox
2.- Download Google Chrome Image Torrent
3.- Access using your Gmail account

That simple !!!

This video is the actual Google Chrome OS Presentation.

I’m just a little scared of where is Google heading. They have one of the biggest email platforms, search engine, social networks (I thing Facebook and Twitter will be both part of Google in the end) and now this new OS….in just a matter of years we will all be living in GoogleLand icon smile google

Google Adwords Banning Crusade

As some of you might have heard Google Adwords has already started a massive ban since yesterday. Nick Fox, Google’s Business Product Management Director for AdWords, told that they will begin permanently banning advertisers at an increased rate.

google adwords ban google adwords google

So what does this mean? Should every advertiser get their Adwords Manual and check if everything is correct. I mean I know Google only tries to ban deceiptful accounts, and God knows I have a very intense struggle with other advertisers taking advantage of our trademarks and so. Still I just don’t understand what could be a strong reason for getting your account banned without an explanation.

Anyway lets just hope we don’t end with our accounts banned by mistake during this crusade and that companies that work with a bunch of accounts don’t have angry clients on their backs in a matter of minutes.

Here you can find and an intervew made by Barry Schwartz from SearchEngineLand, to Nick Fox.

Google AdWords To Step Up Account Disabling & Improve Communication Process

Before I go, I found an interesting post from a couple of years back explaining How To Get Reinstated To Google Adwords if your account is banned, It may be useful right….actualy I found a second post (updated) on how to get banned from Adwords

The Return Of The Google Caffeine

On a galaxy not that far, far way Matt Cutts head of spam at Google announced that they will activate Google Caffeine again for a small audience after the holidays

Now, based on that, it seems that even though they normally don’t roll any changes for search results during holidays since 2003, they will do it again. A datacenter for Google means a lot since they have about 36 datacenters for 1.7 billion Internet users out there.

Still nobody has a very clear idea of what this new Google Caffeine will mean for search results, SEO experts or even on-line marketing companies.

I found this experiment which somehow illustrates what this changes might look like. Still I don’t think the results are conclusive enough.

Detailed Test Of The New Google

How will this affect the optimization and rankings for a site? Will this have the same impact as last time’s “NO FOLLOW” decision?

I believe this is something that should concern most of the people in the search merketing world, since this may mean all the work we have made before this roll-out, might actually change dramatically.

Lets just hope things go down smoothly and we don’t have a surprise at the end of the year….by the way will GooTwitt may be more than live at that time?

Here is the actual post from Matt Cutts: Expect Caffeine after the holidays

SEO Starters Guide

Today I wanted to share a guide I made when I started doing this. It is a small guide with some of the basic things we as SEOs should have in mind when starting a simple optimization work.

Most of the links I’ve gathered come from sources which I believe explain things as simple as possible. What I just did was condensate these links in a sort of checklist and made a few comments on them. However I might have a different view of things but I’m always open to making adjustments and adding any other references or additional information.

This is just a basic guide, not intented for complex proyects.

Ultimate SEO Link Compilation

Since I want to make this “little piece of work” useful I have gathered a set of links which will help readers keep updated on the wonderful world of SEO…they sure have helped me.

Google + Twitter = Spam

Will this image come true?

Last Octobrer 21st Google announced that they will show Twitts within Google search results making it a little bit more real. The problem this might bring along, is the so feared SPAM, since this is an open door for spammers to start ranking and flooding this network.

For what I have read there are many options people think might be a good way to avoid this problem.

There are the ones that think Twitter should charge a fee for business type accounts. Others believe Google shouldn’t start showing Twitter results and better be thinking in a way to use Google Wave as a real time resource.

I really think there is no way of getting rid of spam, there is only chance to minimize this and try getting around by giving twitter accounts credibility based on inbound linking accounts. Still, this means Twitter plays a very important role in spammy account detection.

Other issues around are the privacy of Twitter accounts, not everyone knows how to protect their profile and it seems this has started to be a problem. Other problem is having someone take your brand for nothing-to-do-with accounts.

All of the above will grow as spammers look for ways of getting into social media. Lets just hope tomorrow we don’t have full of “V1@gr@” posts.

How To Lose Your Bloginity

A lot of people has the desire of starting a new blog, a new website or just start Twitting. But that’s when the internal questions arise.

Am I going to update this new little piece of work or I’m just going to post two or three things and then just leave it? or What should I say? anybody cares about my life, my work or even the things I have to say.

So I thought…hey why try to answer all this questions before really getting into it. I should just do it and see how it goes.

And so here I am just starting to discover a new way of just exposing things I think are useful for SEO matters and Internet stuff.

So now that I introduced this new “little piece of work” in a few words. I want to start with a very interesting post I just read at one of my favorite sites: Seomoz.org

This is one of the most common questions I get from the people I know. How do you learn about this things? where do you get the information from?

This is not a profession where you can find hundreds of universities where to learn, actually most of this is really new to most of the population even though it has been there for several years now.

I just want to clear out that I don’t consider myself an SEO expert, I have just been around for 5 years and I still think have a loooot to learn.

I think this post from Whiteboard Friday as they call it, by Rand Fishkin explains this very well.
